I have been seeing Nick for Pilates for about 18 months, I can honestly say that Pilates has transformed me! I am in my mid-fifties and even though I have always been fairly active, back problems and general aches and pains, especially after any form of physical activity, were becoming a problem for me.
Pilates has resolved all of this. The main focus is to strengthen the core muscles and this has made a massive difference to my everyday life.
Nick is very affable and highly skilled. he gently increases the difficulty of various exercises as you build strength and confidence. He is very sensitive to your individual condition and is superb at tailoring exercises accordingly.
Regardless of how fit, active or sporty you are I think everyone can potentially benefit from Pilates and I thoroughly recommend it!
I started going to PL20 Pilates five years ago , I had terrible back pain, and a lack of flexibility (2 back surgery procedures for bulging discs), and had gradually put on a lot of weight due to being unable to exercise.
I had never done Pilates before, and was not sure what to expect. I can only say that now I have no back pain, and have a lot more flexibility, and as I have been able to do more and exercise, I have also lost weight. I go to PL20 Pilates once a week on a one to one session. Nick pushes me, but is careful to ensure it is within the limits of my ability - so I do not get injured! I can now do exercises in Pilates, two years ago I would have thought impossible. Nick is very experienced and fully qualified as a Pilates instructor, and regularly updates his CPD to stay in line with current and new techniques/ideas.
I would recommend PL20 Pilates to anyone interested in improving core strength and flexibility.
